•    Reduce salt intake and which is one of the prominent reasons for weight gain.

•    Go for long walks. Rather than starting with severe Gym workouts, walking helps to burn fat without giving much strain to the body. A good 10-15 Minute stretch + a minimum of 45 Minutes daily walking is more than sufficient to keep you at tone.

•    Avoid high fat dairy products and meat which lead to accretion of fat in the body.

•    Avoid carbohydrate rich foods, such as potatoes and rice, which get changed into fats if not utilize to produce energy.

•    Stock up your fridge with lots of leafy green vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits are rich sources of fiber and water and add weight and volume to our food. This makes our stomachs full while maintaining a lower calorie count since fruits and vegetables are inherently low in calories and fat content. They also pack our bodies with healthy nutrients making our diet a balanced one.

•    Limit animal protein consumption to not more than 4-5 servings per week which means some days you should be consuming vegetarian dishes.

•    Cabbage curbs the conversion of carbohydrates into fats and therefore can help a great deal when it comes to weight reduction.

•    Honey acts as a catalyst for utilization of the fat stores to produce energy in the body, which makes it an important food source.

•    Don't wait till you're starving to eat as this will only encourage binging.  Be sure to have a snack of veggies and a fruit with you between meals and drink water which will help avert feelings of starvation and cravings.
